Abyss Eye's Secret Rares Are Leaking: Every Card Confirmed for Pitch Black

Abyss Eye's Secret Rares Are Leaking

Abyss Eye releases in Japan on May 22, 2026, and the set's secret rares are being posted to social media by fans with early product. Pitch Black, the English adaptation, releases on July 17, 2026. Every card revealed below will appear in the English print run.

Mega Darkrai ex is the headline

Mega Darkrai ex appears in the leaked card images at #114, and as #118 Mega Darkrai ex (Gold).

The set's name comes from Mega Darkrai's Pokédex entry, which reads: "Its dark power blocks out the sun, plunging the surrounding area into darkness. There is no escaping its evil eye." The English set name Pitch Black and the Japanese set name Abyss Eye both come from that single sentence.

Mega Darkrai ex is a Darkness-type Stage 1 with HP 280.

Its first attack, Night Raid, costs two Darkness Energy and does 110 damage. If any of your Benched Pokémon have damage counters on them, the attack does another 110 damage on top of that.

Its second attack, Abyss Eye, costs three Darkness Energy. The full text reads: If your opponent's Active Pokémon is affected by any Special Condition, it is now Knocked Out.

The set also includes a Trainer Item card called Dark Bell, with the text: Both Active Pokémon (except any [D] Pokémon) are now Confused. You may play as many Item cards as you like during your turn. Confusion is a Special Condition. Played against any non-Darkness Active Pokémon, Dark Bell enables Mega Darkrai ex's Abyss Eye attack to instantly Knock Out that target.

  • #117 Gwynn

Plus the two Mega Darkrai cards already mentioned above (#114 and #118), that's every leaked card image visible at the time of writing.

Card text confirmed so far

Gwynn is a Supporter card. The full text reads: Discard up to 2 Pokémon from your hand (excluding any Rule Box Pokémon). Draw 3 cards for each Pokémon discarded in this way. You may play only 1 Supporter card during your turn.

Mega Excadrill ex (the fourth main Mega Evolution in this set, also confirmed in the main set list) is a Metal-type Stage 1 with HP 340. Its first attack Dig And Break costs two Metal Energy and does 90 damage, plus discards the top two cards of your opponent's deck. Its second attack Maximum Drill costs three Metal Energy and does 200+ damage. If Mega Excadrill ex has at least two extra Energy attached beyond the attack's cost, Maximum Drill does an additional 130 damage.

Mega Excadrill ex includes the Mega Evolution ex Rule: when your Mega Evolution Pokémon ex is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards instead of 2.

About the Mega Evolutions in this set

The four Mega Evolution Pokémon ex confirmed in Abyss Eye are Mega Darkrai ex, Mega Zeraora ex, Mega Chandelure ex, and Mega Excadrill ex.

Mega Darkrai and Mega Zeraora are the new Mega Evolutions from the Mega Dimension DLC. Mega Chandelure and Mega Excadrill are Mega Evolutions from the base Pokémon Legends: Z-A game.
